Mugdha’s everyday recommendations

Good finds.
Happy dog days.

A few things that have earned their place in our home and my training routine. Here is why I like them, and what I would check before choosing them for your dog.

THE TREAT-POUCH CONTENDER

Hearty Kibble

Adult lamb & blueberry · 5 kg

Meals. And a little motivation.

All three of my dogs love this kibble. They even choose it over treats. That rather settles the popularity contest in our house.

For your dog: Choose a recipe for your dog’s age and needs. If they have food allergies or a prescribed diet, check with your vet before switching.

A SPACE OF THEIR OWN

MidWest Two-Door Crate

42-inch · double-door · blue

Two doors. More possibilities.

A second door gives me more options for where the crate goes and how my dog enters. A small detail that makes a difference at home.

For your dog: Measure your dog and allow space for both doors. Introduce the crate gradually, so it becomes a comfortable place to rest.

FOR THE GAMES YOU SHARE

PSK PET MART Rope Toy

For supervised play together

The toy is only half the fun.

I found this rope toy sturdy in play. The more we played together, the more precious it became to my dogs. Shared games gave it a history.

For your dog: Check for loose strands. Put it away when it starts coming apart, and avoid letting your dog swallow fibres.

A LITTLE LICKING PROJECT

TRIXIE Junior Licking Mat

Junior licking mat

Spread a little. Lick a little.

Useful in puppy days, during training and for serving suitable food more slowly. A little food spread out gives your dog something to work on.

For your dog: Stay nearby and use food that suits your dog. Put the mat away if licking turns into chewing or tearing.

FOR A NOSE WITH PLANS

Snuffle Mat

NIHUIFDPY snuffle mat

Rain outside. Sniffing inside.

For puppy days, rainy days and days when the parent needs a lie-down. I like giving dogs a small food search they can get their noses into.

For your dog: Supervise and remove it if your dog pulls it apart. It adds an activity; it doesn’t replace toilet breaks or suitable movement.

FOR LIFE AT BOTH ENDS OF THE LEAD

WapaW Tactical Harness

Tactical Black · check size on Amazon

A good fit comes first.

I prefer a well-fitted harness for walking and training. It keeps lead pressure away from the neck while we learn to walk together.

For your dog: Measure against the size chart and check comfortable movement. A harness is equipment, not a substitute for loose-lead training.
